  • SWVADA year-end award points standings through November 9, 2019 can be found here. Please take a look to be sure your information is accurate, and notify us if you see any errors.

  • Our last show of the season was the SWVADA-BREA Fall Show on October 20 at Green Hill Park, offering combined test and dressage classes. Thanks to the volunteers and exhibitors who braved the rain and mud. Results 

  • Nominations for the annual VADA Shel Gafford Memorial Award for Excellence in Sportsmanship are due December 1. If you would like to nominate a SWVADA member for this statewide award, here is the nomination form.

  • SWVADA's final 2019 event was a cavaletti clinic with Tracey Smith-Oliver on Saturday, October 26 at Green Hill Park. Click here for information on cavaletti training. NOTE - This was the final opportunity of the season to earn mandatory volunteer hours needed to qualify for year end awards.

  • SWVADA shows and clinics cannot happen without your time and effort. We provide lunch and are happy to work around your ride times if you are showing. No experience needed - on the job training cheerfully provided. This is an excellent opportunity to get your required volunteer hours to qualify for year end awards, plus our big raffle at the end of the year.   • Save the date - VADA Awards Banquet on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Greencroft Club, Charlottesville, Virginia.

  • SWVADA hosted a great clinic with former SWVADA member Cody Armstrong on August 3 and 4 at Hill of Dreams Equestrian Center. Click here for Laura Nelson's article about the clinic with detailed descriptions of some of the exercises.

  • SWVADA members once again competed in the annual VADA Chapter Challenge, held at Morven Park this year on August 3. Click here for photos,  show results, and an article about the show.

  • USDF is introducing a new USDF Regional Schooling Show Award Program starting December 1, 2019 and offering regional recognition to USDF Group Members competing in participating non-USEF-licensed/non-USDF-recognized competitions. More information is available here, and complete  program rules may be found on the USDF website.
