  • Message from SWVADA President: As we continue to deal with Covid-19 in our communities, please be patient and flexible as our local and regional organizations resume show offerings. These individuals, both volunteer and professional, have no more experience navigating a pandemic than anyone else. Everyone is doing their best under extraordinary circumstances at great stress and added expense.

GMOs and private farms will likely run many shows and clinics at a loss in 2021 in order to "keep our sport alive" during this trying time. The additional protocols and associated supplies add considerably to expenses, and show facilities can close and re-open suddenly due to their individual risk factors.  Membership for many organizations has decreased significantly because so many shows canceled last year. We are hopeful that we will be able to resume a more normal schedule of clinics and shows this coming year.

So, to reiterate, please be patient and flexible. Try to adhere to the new rules. Don't complain if you see some organizations, especially private ones, add a COVID-19 surcharge to their entries. Don't complain about the quality of prizes. Simply be appreciative that there are many underpaid dressage professionals and dedicated volunteers who are trying to maintain our sport in the best way that they can under conditions for which none of us are at fault.
