Thank you for giving your time to the SWVADA Licensed show this year. There is no truer statement ever said than, “Without you, the show could not go on.” And so, I thank you for your good cheer. I thank you for willingness to go with the flow. I thank you for your support. I thank you for your flexibility in taking on jobs and switching jobs. I thank you for your individual contributions.
Bob Whitehurst - for being a great partner to work with! And for all of the hours and hours of time spent organizing the paperwork, keeping track of all the USDF/USEF requirements, communication with competitors, filing, learning to use a new program, and for all of his volunteer hours working with Green Hill Park to help prepare the facility for a show.
Tom Nelson - for lending us his experience as an announcer, his clear communication of information, and his good humor throughout the day.
Blanche Mahoney - for being everywhere and doing everything from setting up arenas, helping in the office, giving advise, reading tests (just how many did she read?), to taking down arenas.
Paula Bittinger - for handing out buttons with a smile and helping keep the office running smoothly.
Wendy Gregg - for learning how to be a good scribe for Kay Meredith.
Shannon Simpson - for wonderful smiles and scribing.
Pat Nelson - for courage and humor in learning a new computer program to score tests!
Amy Roberson - for taking on new challenges and learning how to score!
Gary Goodale - for hosting one of our judges, scoring at the show, and for her calming manner and assistance during the water crisis.
Tobi Bentz - for making everyone feel welcome and valued, and for helping us stay hydrated and well-fed.
Tammie Stanley - for teaming up on hospitality; competitors appreciated the welcoming smiles and the well-organized distribution of lunch.
Jane Garland - for leaving the hunter world to join dressage for the day measuring whips and checking spurs ; she didn't exclude anyone!
Katherine Graman - for her willingness to learn the job of a ring steward and the confidence to be one at a licensed show.
Jordan Webb - for her willingness to bake in the sun most of the day supervising the warm-up arena and she isn't even a member of SWVADA trying to get her volunteer hours!
Michelle Buonocore - for being the first welcoming face that most of our competitors met as they drove in and got directions to their stall or a spot to park on the grass; next year we will send them a map!
Shelley Stewart - for cheerfully helping out in the office taking on all sorts of tasks and helping us stay organized.
Amy Tate - for using her creative talents to make the show program.
Amanda Richardson - for being the volunteer with the most jobs (hospitality, runner, and stable coordinator, which is a fancy name for someone who checked all the stalls at the end of the day and had to clean some!) and for staying with me until we drove out the park gate.
Arena Set up Crew - Blanche Mahoney, Courtney Greco, Lynn Jendrowski, Anita Cox, Meredith McGrath, Tobie Bentz, Laura Nelson, and Jeanette Shires - thanks for perfect rectangles!
Arena Take Down - Blanche Mahoney, Laura Nelson, Gail Stanley, Jordan Webb, Amanda Richardson - thanks for making them disappear!
My husband, Sean Pecor, who provided computer support, assisted Bob during the show with arena watering, hauled buckets of water from the creek to the toilets, was a runner for the day, but most of all supported me in all of the months prior to the show. And of course, my children, Moira and Chloe, who cheerfully gave up their swim lesson to stay with mommy all day.
Susan Dallas - and other SWVADA board members who gave me their support and advice.
Working Together We Can Accomplish Anything!
