Our Speakers:


Dr. R Scott Pleasant is an Associate Professor in the Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences at the Virginia-Maryland regional College of Veterinary Medicine. He received his DVM at the VMRCVM in 1984 and his MS and a residency in large animal surgery from the University of Illinois Urbana in 1992. He is board certified by the American College of veterinary Surgeons. Dr Pleasant’s interests are equine lameness, podiatry and nutrition.


Morgan Dillard Harris has trained intensely for many years in Natural Horsemanship.. In June 2007 at the age of 20, Morgan established Carolina Horsemanship and began conducting public clinics, private mini clinics and private lessons in Natural Horsemanship. Twin Palms Farm is the home of Carolina Horsemanship. It is located in Centerville, NC,  which is about 40 minutes north of Raleigh, NC.  Morgan maintains approximately 5 horses for full training or breaking on site as well as several of her own horses.


Judy Westenhoefer has a life-long love and connection with horses. Her serious interest in Dressage began in the mid-1960’s. From there it expanded into showing, training, breeding, instructing, and Judging. She has studied and trained with many of the world’s top horsemen, including numerous Olympic coaches from Germany and the United States. Along the way she earned the Bronze and Silver Medals of Achievement from the United States Dressage Federation and was selected twice to work with the U.S. Olympic team’s Developing Rider Program with her home-trained horses. Judy is an “R” Dressage judge and continues to coach and instruct as time permits from her Central Manor Farm in Bedford, Virginia.


Tracey Smith-Oliver is a USDF certified instructor through second level and a USDF L Graduate.  She has trained and competed through preliminary level eventing as well as Prix St Georges dressage.  Tracey's focus in recent years is dressage and she is fortunate to have worked with Walter Zettl, Lilo Fore, Cindy Sydnor, Harriet Peterson, and Gerhard Politz.  She currently competes her 10 year old Irish Draught/Connemara gelding at third level.  Tracey trains and teaches at her farm (Dixon Hill, LLC) in Fairfield, VA.


Jennifer L. Wolz is an associate attorney with Albright & Bongard, PC in Christiansburg, Virginia.  In addition to her work in the legal field, Jennifer has held various positions in the equine industry, including barn manager, instructor, and trainer.  Because of her experience in both the legal field and the equine industry, Jennifer understands the needs of people involved in the horse industry as horse professionals or as non-professionals.  For questions, set up an appointment, or to contact Jennifer directly, please call (540) 605-0677 or email Jennifer
